Even 'Merica must concede that there are things brighter than itself: sunrise from the top of Mt. Fuji (富士山)
'Merica climbed through the night including an hour or so in the rain. It took about 6 hours to get to the top, 12,389ft. This was the start of an intense rocky switchback adventure.
Made it to the top with a couple of hours to spare. The actual moment of sunrise:
The clouds opened for the few thousand of us up at the top to see the first sliver of sunlight of the day.
The way down: surreal
